By now I'm sure my readers are familiar with the fact that there's a new Ultra movie coming out in Japan on the 12th of December. At least, I hope y'all are familiar—clicking through to Tsuburaya's latest extended trailer reveals a host of commenters reacting with glee, surprise and confusion, in that order. The information has been public for some time, but people are still asking 'When's this movie coming out?' 'Who's the big dark dude with the claws?' and of course 'Who's that red-and-blue one?' Tsuburaya, you kinda dropped the ball on this one. :/*
Allow late-to-the-party-Ming to give you a quick synopsis.
Daikaijuu Battle: Ginga Densetsu (Giant Monster Battle: Galactic Legend) is set in the Ultra Galaxy continuum, and Very Bad Things start happening to the Land of Light. An Ultra who fell to the darkness, Belial, is released from his space prison and obtains a Giga Battlenizer, one containing 100 monsters at his command. Off he goes with his forces and attacks his former home! (Belly-kunBelial has a homepage, by the way: The Strongest Room of Ultraman Belial/Ultraman Belial no Saikyou Room. It used to be much more amateurish, believe me.) Belial will be voiced by Miyasako Hiroyuki of Ameagari Kesshitai. Yanno, Belly, with that site of yours and your seiyuu being an owarai...I'm finding it a little hard to take you seriously.
Speaking of his former home. It's very green. And shiny. And somewhat Matrix-like. Yes, folks, we're going to see the Land of Light, and one that's not composed of circuit boards, sheer curtains and coloured water. This looks so polished and alien, I think it just might work. :O
And the Ultras! Dear lord, the Ultras. You Ultras-only fans are going to get a TREAT. 50 are slated to appear, including:

The movie will also introduce a new Ultraman: Zero, said to be the son of Ultraseven 'although he himself doesn't know of [his father]'. (SEVEEEEEEEEEEEN. YOU'VE GOT SOME SPLAININ' TO DO.) Half-red, half-blue, fearsome of mien and armed with TWO Zero Sluggers...well, you know, I'm just going to see how he works out.
Last but not least, we have a special guest (but you may have worked that out just looking at the Ultra roster up top).
I am going to send in an enquiry to the big guys as to this movie's international release. Pray hard, folks; I'm hoping just as much as you are for a positive answer. Watch this space, and point your cursors to the official site as well!
* The reason I say this is...well, has anyone gone to the English site? There's not a peep in the main body text about this, only info about overseas broadcasts of Ultraman and some marketing on the side. Don't forget about the rest of us, yeah, TPC? The world wants more Ultraman!
