Letters to Ultraman: Yullian ウルトラマンへの手紙：ユリアン

Dear Yullian,

I have written to fighters, and eventually I'll start writing to healers. But I'm glad one letter is going out to someone who's also an out-and-out fangirl.

Don't get me wrong. It's good to see a woman fighting alongside the men (and if I interpret GinDen correctly, commanding a team of other female fighters). But to have evidence of an Ultran who's not only into fandom, but as open about it as decorum allows, is very exciting. You're one of us, so to speak, and it's metafantastic.

It has been, shall we say, unfashionable for a person of my age, let alone gender, to profess a love for giant silver superheroes. But I don't believe that only boys should get to flaunt their Ultraman tumblers if they want to, or that only girls should be able to openly appreciate great fashion. Fandom fires us up, fosters a safe space, gives us something deeper to hold on to beyond race, age and physical attributes. Nobody gets to tell you what should and shouldn't give you your passion in life.

Let's meet up one day, you and I. You can tell me about Ulterra. I will teach you how to speak LOLcat. And if you know where I can snag some good fanfiction, CALL ME. I don't often get to squee with my girls nowadays.

ユリアンへ

これまでは戦士に手紙を書いて、そしてこれからは治療師にも手紙を書く。
しかしこの手紙を戦士だけじゃなくファンガール同士に送れるのがとてもうれしい。

勘違いはしないでほしい。
女戦士が男とともに戦っているのを見て誇りを感じる
（銀伝をうまく解釈しているなら、女戦士の隊をも率いている）
しかしこれまでファンダムに没頭していて、しかも礼儀などの上にこれほどオープンにふるまっている証拠のあるウルトラ戦士は、心躍る事です。
言わば君は私たちの同胞。それがメタ的にすごい！

性別はともかく　私の年齢の人が銀色の巨大ヒーローに憧れるのはあんまりはやらないと言いましょう。
しかしウルトラマンの水筒を見せびらかせるのを男の子に限らせたくないし、
ふぁしょんを面白く味わえるののは女の子に限らせたくないだと想う。
ファンである事が人を燃え上がらせ、セーフスペースを育み、国　年齢　体格などに関係なくより深い何かを与える。
好きなものは好きだし、他人に決められないだからね。
