Letters to Ultraman: Gaia ウルトラマンへの手紙：ガイア

Dear Gaia,

Hail, warrior of the earth. You are strong and solid, like the earth you came from, and you love all the life it supports. Outside of canon, we see a kind soul, respectful of others and firm in his beliefs.

First off: thanks for sticking by Agul. Earth and sea made a great team when you finally stopped fighting each other. The will of a planet had at last come together, and it was a sight to behold. The only pity was not seeing you two fight together enough!

There's also this other thing that's special about both of you: you're giants of light, all right, but not from some far corner of the universe. You're from 'here'; the will of a planet rising up to defend itself, like any living being. Your defense is, shall we say, a little more invested than immediately visible. And I feel grateful that the Earth rose up when she did. She gave us two fantastic heroes I still respect.

I know that somewhere, beyond sight, you watch over humanity still. It will probably take a while, but someday our wills shall come together, much as it did for Agul and you. I hope I'm around to see it. And I pray that we unite around a worthy cause.

ガイアへ

やあ、大地の戦士。君はその大地のように堅牢堅固、そしてそこに育まれる生命を愛する。世界設定外に、優しい心を持ち、他人を尊重する信念を貫く人が見えた。

最初に　アグルを受け入れてありがとうを言う。
もう互いに争っていない時は、素晴らしいチームだった。
惑星の意思がついに一つにまとまって、まさに目を見張る。
もっと共に戦わなかったのが、一つだけの残念なこと！

君らにもう一つの特徴がある。
確かに光の巨人でいるが、遠い宇宙から来たのではなく、「ココ」に生まれた。
生き物のように惑星が身を守ろうとする意思の象徴でいた。
君の戦いは、一見より力を注いだに決めている。

きっとどこかの見えないところで、君は今でも故郷を見守っている。
時間はかかりそうですけど、いつか君とアグルのように　私たちの意志も一つになるでしょう。
その時をこの目で見えることを願う。
そして価値ある大義の下に活動するように。
