Letters to Ultraman: Zero ウルトラマンへの手紙：ゼロ

Dear Zero,

Well. This might be a little awkward. While you still remind me of a cheap gangster, I suppose that is not entirely your fault. Besides, I set out to write 36 letters to 36 Ultrawarriors, and you happen to be the first. Even if I haven't seen your movie yet.

You, after all, are currently the rookie.

I've been watching your kind for more than half my life, so perhaps I have some insight I can contribute. Permit me to share some tips the new guy might find useful (although he has the edge in years):

Be not proud. Ask Jack about Hideki Goh some time. Or ask Taro about his time on Earth with Tenpera Seijin. I suspect he will squirm, at least a little bit.

Be humble. You will not always be the strongest, fastest, or wisest...nor will you always be the youngest, newest or most vulnerable.

I would tell you to believe in your comrades, but I think you might have that down with the Ultimate Force Zero.

Find your family where you can. They don't have to be bound by blood. And if you can write to your mother, write to your mother.

Love the world. It takes less energy than hating it, which is important when your energy is at a three-minute premium.

Come to Earth some time. And stop by the other parts of the world some time. Great and Powered can help you out with perspective. Ask your father about Hawaii. Sadly, monsters do not only arise within the confines of one island nation.

Love what you do. It's not everything you need, but it's a pretty good step.

ゼロへ

まあ。さあ。これ、ちょっとぎこちないかもしれない。
自分にとって　君の根無しヤンキーの印象が強いけど、それは全て君のせいではないなんだね。
それにしても、３６人のウルトラ戦士に３６通の手紙を書くと決心した。通りに、ゼロがその中の最初何です。映画は、まだ見ていないのに。

どうせ今は、君が戦士のルーキーなので。

この人生の半分以上、君たちの活動を見守っていたので、少しのの見識を述べて頂きます。
（年ははるかに越えているけど）新米への助言を：

傲慢になってはいけない。ジャックに「郷秀樹」って言う人間のことを尋ねてみて。タロウにもテンペラー星人との最初の戦いのことも尋ねてみるといい。少なくとも身悶えはするだと思います。

常に謙虚でいる。いつまでも最強、最速、もっとも賢明の存在でいられない。同時に、いつまでもルーキー、新米、もっとも億弱の存在でいるはずもない。

仲間を信じろうと言いたいけど、多分ウルテぃメイトフォースゼロがいて十分解かりきっているだと思う。

家族は、あらゆる場所に探し出す。血が繫がる者とは限らない。あと母に連絡がとれば、母に連絡を取れ。

世界を愛しよう。世界を憎むよりエネルギーの消耗が少ない。エネルギーは地球で、三分の量だけありますよ？

地球までよってきなさい。できれば世界中を見てみるのです。グレートもパワードも、その件に力になれるはず。父にもハワイのことも聞いてみよう。残念ながら、悪は一つの島国だけに現るとは限らない。

やっている事を好きになれ。それが全てじゃないけど、良い衝動になる。

ご健闘を祈る。私たちの代わりに、ピグモンの頭をなでてやってくれ。
