Letters to Ultraman: Xenon ウルトラマンへの手紙：ゼノン

Dear Xenon,

Sorry. I know even less about you than I do about Zero, but I took what I knew from fan works, and asked a few fans what they thought. If I believe all of them, you're calm, quiet, absent-minded, incredibly sleep-deprived...and also sort of useless in a fight. Protip: if someone is comparing you to Seven Joushi, it's not a compliment.

You do seem like an okay guy, though. You're Max's superior, the Zoffy to his 'Man, and somewhere online is evidence saying you were designed based on Uchiyama Mamoru's Meros. Or rather, you were supposed to be Meros. Do you know each other? He's a hidden fount of badassery. Someone has to be the cool head in a sea of bravado, and maybe that's you. I can't fault your sense of duty either, if you came to help Max out with Zetton.

...Letting him duke it out on his lonesome at the end, though...well, I WILL GIVE YOU THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT and say you trusted him enough by then to let him fight his own battles. Don't prove me wrong.

It's OK that you're not like the others. To paraphrase another alien intelligence, 'you are, just as you are'. You serve your people well, and you're there for your allies. Truly that is all that needs doing.

In the meantime, ask Zoffy to introduce you to this interesting Terran beverage called 'coffee', and get some rest before you fall snoring on your face somewhere. If Ultras dream, then sweet dreams. I wonder what you all dream of.

ごめん。ゼロよりも君の事が知らない。
でもこれを書く前に、二次創作作品や知り合いのファンの意見を参考にしました。
それらを信じるのなら、君は落ち着いていて物静かでうっとりとした性格を持ち、非常に睡眠不足…そして戦いの時にかなり頼れない。
ヒント：セブン上司に比べられることは褒め言葉ではありません。

それも君はそんなにひどい人とは見えない。君はマックスの上司で、彼とマンとゾフィーの関係があるでしょう。
そしてネットに君が内山まもるのメロスを基にしてデザインされたという証拠もある、というより君はメロスでいたはずだった。
もしかして互いに知り合っているでしょうか？
武勇の海に誰かが冷静の頭を持ち活躍しなければならない。多分、君がその存在である。
マックスを助けに来たのなら、義理にケチつけまい。

…最終戦で一人で戦わせたけどね…まあ、疑わしきは罰せずで、一人で戦い抜けるとマックスを信じきっていたことにしよう。違うとは願っていない。

ほかの戦士と少し違っても大丈夫。ある知的生命体の言葉で言い換えれば、「あなたはあなたのままで良いのです。」
君は人や国のために力を尽くし、仲間を支える。まさにそれで十分ではないか。

とりあえず、「コーヒー」と言う地球の飲み物をゾフィーに聞いてみて、何かの真っ最中に寝てしまう前にお休みください。
ウルトラが夢を見るなら、いい夢を。（何の夢を見るかな。ちょっと知りたい。）
