Letters to Ultraman: Great ウルトラマンへの手紙：グレート

Hello, Great.

I believe, without a doubt, that you are the most suave Ultra out there. Your milestone: An Ultraman who not only talked to his host, but JOKED with him.

There is a definite aura of humour about you - the way you converse with Jack Shindo and rib some of the monsters. You could easily have descended into comedy with that, but the dark bite of your humour prevented that from happening. I just see a bloke who revels in the thrill of a fight, as deliberate and ponderous as it may be, and bears a less-than-solemn attitude about life.

(I could possibly say the same thing about UMA.)

And yet despite that aura of coolness, deep down there beats a kind and devoted heart. One devoted to friends, country and love. I adore the prickly Great of Gekiden, who pushes others away before they get hurt, and puts on a big show of not caring when the opposite is generally the case. No need to put up a show there, my man. You're a lot more appealing when you're true to yourself.

It's that delicious sarcastic competence that gives me hope; life doesn't always have to be deadly serious, and one can have a little fun along the way. I hope you're still sassing monsters somewhere. The world would be much less colourful without its smooth-voiced, sharp-tongued hero.

やあ、グレート。

紛れもなく　君が一番モテるウルトラマンだと信じている。
君は人間態と話し合っただけではなく、じゃれ合っていった。

ジャック・シンドーと会話し異星生物をツッコんでいることから、何らかのユーモアのオーラーを感じれる。
お笑いキャラにしかならない危険もあったけど、少し皮肉のトーンが救い（？）でした。
目に映るのは、故意で重々しくても戦いのスリルに喜び、人生に対するあんまり真面目ではない態度で生きている人。

(多分UMAについて同じ事を言えます)

クールなオーラをまとっているのに、胸の中に非常に思いやりのある忠実な心がある。仲間、国、愛に忠実なる心が。
激伝のツンデレっぷりで人を傷つかないように独りで戦い、何かで燃え上がっている事を隠そうとする君が可愛い。
でもね、あんまり見せかけはしないくださいね。
自分に忠実でいることも大切なんです。

その皮肉な応答脳が希望を与えてしまう。
人生ってのはいつもくそ真面目である必要がなく、歩く道をちょっと楽しまなきゃいけない。
どこかで怪獣に突っ込んでいることを願う。
滑らかの声で毒下のヒーローがない世界はずいぶん色あせるでしょう。
